We got back early Sun morning @ 4 am
Luckily we had elected to take the Northern route back since we didn't really hear about the storm until Sat. We went the Little Rock-Nashville-Memphis route and missed all the evacuation traffic. Sarah is loving her time in Tx. I am a native Texan *from the Big D* and still have family there so she is not all alone. She has me COMPLETELY hooked on the OC now and I am eagerly awaiting the new season. I know it will conflict with Survivor but I am willing to take the chance and tape Survivor... How is everyone else fairing as fall comes our way?!?! Deb |

We are pretty darn busy, actually! We are thinking about moving, but having a hard time finding anything we want that we can afford. Houses that I like are running 500,000. My husband just can't think about buying anything so expensive, and it would put a cramp in vacations, as well as clothing, food... etc, LOL
Anyway, glad the few of us left here seem to be hanging in there. |

I'm still away from Atlanta on family matters, so I was no where near Katrina.
All Atlanta apparently had was rain and a few tornadoes, it sounded much like what happened there is 1995 when Hurricane Opal came ashore in Alabama and Florida, so it would not have been a major deal. Had I been anywhere near the central Gulf Coast, I would have evacuated as soon as the forecast had a cateogry 5 storm headed that way.....I've known for years about the vunerability of that area to a major hurricane and to flooding, and I think anyone who stayed in the city or near the Gulf shoreline was insane. Edie is still adjusting to life without Lieben......she now lays on the floor next to me if I am on the computer.....she barks a little when the others start barking up a storm....but she is a quiet schnauzer, which is almost a contradiction in terms.  Anyhow, I'm hoping to figure out a scenario to get out of this area within a few months. |

I' m so glad every one is ok.
My son works downtown Atlanta, lives way out in Auburn,, Atlanta had a little more than rain and a few tornado's! LOL He said it was the worst storm he'd ever lived threw.. I agree with the peps being insane staying there. And their still fighting to stay there. Not me Brother. |
